NFL Bye Week 8 – Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Houston

Heading into week 8 of the NFL season, it’s time for fantasy owners to focus on the depth of their squads, to add useful options while regular starters are out. Week 8, we have the Ravens, Bills, Bengals and the Texans all out, which means many of you are likely looking to fill a few key positions. Last week with 6 teams on a bye you would expect week 8 to be slim. Last week was full of injuries giving fantasy owners plenty to think about.

Rashad Jennings, RB Jacksonville Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew has already been ruled out for Week 8 with a foot injury. Rashad Jennings stepped quite nicely for MJD with 21 rushes for 44 yards and a touchdown, while adding 7 catches for 58 yards. The matchup this week against the Green Bay Packers isn’t great, but the running back should see a heavy workload and fill in nicely as an RB2.

Chris Givens, WR St. Louis Rams

Chris Givens is the better option than receiver Brandon Gibson. Even though Gibson has been targeted once more per game on average since the injury to Danny Amendola, he has yet to find the end zone while Chris Givens has done so twice in the last three weeks.

  1. John Miller says:

Feel like Kerley is being underrated in PPR leagues. Santana Moss could be decent as long as Garcon is out. I’d love to say that Starks gets a shot if Green keeps under-performing but the Packers running the ball is like the end of a bad date; you’re just going through the motions to say that you did.

Brandon Myers is also being under-rated in PPR leagues, especially FFPC formats.
